Abstract

The Syameela Creative Da'wah Center, led by Ustaz Oemar Mita, organizes paid premium study sessions as part of its da'wah program. The premiumization of these da'wah activities naturally results in limited social interaction, as the target audience is restricted to a specific demographic. This study aims to analyze the social and cultural interactions within the Syameela Creative Da'wah Center through the lens of Hybrid Interactions. Drawing on Jan Servaes and Chris Verschooten's Hybrid Interactions theory, this research elaborates on three key dichotomies: (1) tradition and modernity, signifying change, (2) universality and relativity, represented by the concept of ta’aruf (mutual understanding), and (3) individuality and collectivity, represented by the concept of ta’awun (mutual assistance) in da'wah practices. The study employs a qualitative methodology under the constructivist paradigm, utilizing ethnographic, da'wah, and communication science approaches. The research subjects consist of the administrators of the Syameela Creative Da'wah Center, while the research objects include social and cultural interaction, communication, development, and human rights within the center. The findings reveal that the Syameela Creative Da'wah Center adopts a modern approach by offering exclusive Series Premium da'wah classes tailored to specific target audiences. This exclusive strategy is found to have positive concepts and objectives, contributing to the development of a da'wah ecosystem based on Islamic knowledge, structured and systematic in nature, aligned with contemporary advancements.
