Moral Education in the Short Story Cinta dan Darah by Hamka

Abstract

One of the primary objectives of education in Indonesia is to cultivate noble character among students. However, in practice, there are instances of students exhibiting unbecoming or inappropriate daily behaviors. For example, some students may act arrogantly or speak hurtfully. This study aims to analyze the positive role of storytelling in strengthening students' moral character while simultaneously reducing negative behaviors. The methodology employed is a qualitative approach grounded in a literature-based study. The analysis is conducted descriptively. The findings reveal that students' character can be nurtured through learning activities involving storytelling. Strengthening students' morals can be achieved by providing opportunities for them to read or listen to advice embedded within short stories they engage with.
